Julian HILTON

Julian Hilton started working with the phosphate industry in 1998, and consults for a number of producers, engineering companies, banks and investment houses on policy, regulatory, technical and financial matters.  He has particular interests in sustainable development, food, energy and water security and the waste hierarchy.

He is Co-Convenor of the IFA NORM and phosphogypsum working group and is currently working on the IFA Phosphogypsum Handbook. He chairs the IAEA/ OECD Expert Working Group on Comprehensive Extraction and is a member of the UNECE Expert Working Group on Resource Classification.

 
Jan CHYS
IFA Product Security Working Group Convenor, Product Stewardship Director oYara SA/NV



Jan Chys is presently Director at Yara International ASA and graduated as a chemical engineer with an extra education on Microbial Ecology from the State University of Ghent/Belgium in 1978.
He has been taking previously several tasks and roles in Yara such as Laboratory Manager, Director Product Quality, Business Development manager as well as HESQ manager Downstream when he started working respectively for Hydro Agri in 1981 and Yara International ASA since 2004.
He has been in charge of several representation tasks necessitating technical expertise and input on behalf of Yara International as well in European Commission Working Group's, the European Normalization Body (CEN), as well as in branch organizations such as Fertilizers Europe and the International Fertilizer Industry Association. In IFA, he is member of the Technical Committee, its Strategy Advisory Team (SAT), as well as Convenor of the Working Groups on Method Harmonization and Product Security.


 
Volker Andresen
Director, IFA Technical and SHE Service > IFA


Volker Andresen is a seasoned business development executive who joined the IFA (International Fertilizer Industry Association) as Technical & SHE (safety, health, and environment) Committee Director in 2012.  He also coordinates the Association's activities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, handling relations with key market players and high government officials.
Originally from northern Germany where he grew up in an agricultural environment, Volker completed his Economics Masters studies in the United States and France.  Over the past two decades, Volker has held senior-level positions in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) headquarters of IBM, as well as a directorship position at the World Liquefied Petroleum Gas Association.
Volker resides with his wife and their twins near Paris in Saint Germain-en-Laye.
